Obituary of GIEBEL – Ruth Enid Mary

July 15, 1917 – April 30, 2010 Ruth Giebel of Calgary, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010 at the age of 92 years. Ruth was born in Gull Lake, SK and raised on the farm near Simmie, SK. She met her late husband Jesse, and they later married and continued to live in Saskatchewan, where their daughter Valarie was born. After moving to Red Deer, AB Philip was born. Ruth was a cook for the Red Deer Composite High School Dormitory Kitchen for the students stayining in the dorms who came from all across Alberta. She opened her house to other children, that she helped other families raise. Ruth cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, and enjoyed the time she was able to spend in her garden. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her; children, Valarie and her husband Gordon Enno of Calgary, and Philip Giebel of Red Deer, grandchildren; Gregory and his wife Debbie Enno of Calgary, Tianna Enno of Vancouver, Dodi and her husband Allan Thrush of Calgary, Shane and his wife Amanda Giebel of Fayetteville, AR, Shaun and his wife Molly (Tse) Giebel of Melvern, PA, Candace Giebel of Vancouver and Vanessa (Giebel) Mayer and her husband Mike Mayer of Sylvan Lake, AB; great grandchildren, Miranda Enno, Tavis Enno, Rori Enno, Kayley Thrush, Alexandra Thrush, Emilia Thrush, Mackenzie Giebel – Mayer, Nya Giebel–Mayer, Berkley Giebel–Mayer, Cade Giebel, Reid Giebel, Jasmine Giebel and Ian Giebel. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband Jesse in 1989. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
