Obituary of LIPPERT – Ray

July 20, 1937 – April 30, 2010 Ray Lippert devoted husband for forty-five years of Louise Lippert of Calgary, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010, after a courageous fight against mesothelioma, at the age of 72 years. The youngest of seven children, Ray was born on July 20, 1937 in Hilda, AB where he grew up on his family farm. At the age of 20 he moved to Edmonton to pursue a career. In 1959 he moved to Calgary where he was employed as a locksmith until retiring in January 2004. He had an uncanny ability to think clearly through any problem until he found the solution. Dad was a genius, he could fix anything. Nothing was too big of a challenge for him. He was such a helpful man. Dad was so pleased by the simple things in life. He loved the outdoors, quadding and motor biking with his friends and sons. A man of great wisdom, there was no doubt that Dad was our hero who truly deserved the title of head of our family. He was never a rich man, nor was he famous. His wealth was his family who came first and foremost – WE were his priority. Ray was a special man, a wonderful husband to his beloved Louise, and a great father to his six sons, Michael and Michelle, Mark and Jessica, Frank and Lynda, Jason and Jennifer, Jeffrey and Melinda, and Paul, all of Calgary; and his daughter Tina and Jamie of Wales, UK; grandchildren, Keiran, Kristin, Braden, Emma, Anna, Noah, Jacob, Joshua, Evelyn, Owen, Isabelle and a grandchild due in August. He is also survived by his brother Otto; and sisters, Esther and Ella. Ray was predeceased by his parents Christ and Bertha Lippert.
