Obituary of ROBINSON – F.B.

February 13, 1931 – April 29, 2010 On Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the age of 79 years, we lost our father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Ben Robinson. Ben passed away at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary following a brief illness. Ben grew up in the communities of Oyen, AB and New Brigden, AB and worked briefly for the CPR and Calgary Motor Products. In 1956, Ben joined the Calgary Police Service, attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and retired in 1988 after thirty-two years of service. Ben is survived by four children, Darrel Robinson(Denise), Donna Norby, Gordon Robinson (Shawnee), and Kerri Butler (Gord); five grandchildren, Carolynn, Curtis, Taylor, Shawn, and Ty; sister Donna Church (Gerald); mother-in-law Olive Holmes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ben was predeceased by his wife Jean in 2007 after fifty-one years of marriage; his parents Arthur and Irene; fourteen brothers and sisters; and son-in-law Dale Norby.
