Obituary of PERRY – Raleigh

May 21, 1912 – April 23, 2010 Raleigh Perry, born May 21, 1912, passed April 23, 2010, at the Chinook Hospice in Calgary, AB. He was one month short of his 98th birthday. Raleigh was born in Harmattan, AB and moved to High Prairie, AB in 1919 where he lived and farmed for thirty-seven years. He then moved to Edmonton in 1956 to go into business. He retired to the US in 1973 and after the passing of his second wife Helen in 1987, he returned to Alberta. He subsequently lived in California and British Columbia before settling in Cochrane, AB. He was pre-deceased by eleven of his twelve siblings and three wives, Ardith (Greer), Helen (Tierney) and Ola (Gillebrand). Raleigh is survived by four sons, Ronald (Iris), Chester (Carol), George (Irene) and Patrick (Maureen), seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and his sister, Doris Bliss. He will be laid to rest in High Prairie Alberta on May 1, 2010. Services will be held at the High Prairie United Church at 2:00 PM.
