Obituary of LEMAIRE – Yvonne Marie

March 28, 1943 – April 22, 2010 Yvonne Marie (Vonnie) Lemaire born March 28, 1943 in Didsbury, drifted gently away on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the age of 67 years at the Southwood Hospice, Calgary. Vonnie was a wonderful mother, sister and friend, a loving soul with a passion for life and for music (playing several instruments), an infectious smile and open heart. She travelled throughout Canada and the United States, enjoying a variety of jobs, pastimes and volunteer work. When her health forced her to slow down, Vonnie became a gardener, avid reader, garage sale shopper and beader, creating beautiful works of art that reflected her Native roots. Vonnie was kind and generous, making friends wherever she went. Her family and friends (and cat) were an important part of her life, witnessed by the number of visitors to the “party room” at the Hospice in her final days. We have all been blessed to have had Vonnie touch our lives. She will be missed by her loving daughters, RoseAnn (Wayne) Lilac and Dolores (Dan) Lorden of Calgary; son Remi (Irene) Bernreuther of Sundre; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Joan (Eric) Williams, Nakusp, BC; best friend/confidant/ “Just Cuz” Una Fraser; auntie Marie Leclaire; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec. Vonnie was predeceased by her husband Roger, son Joe Bernreuther, and brothers Gill and Ron. At Vonnie’s request there will be no formal service.
