Condolences
I also met Sheila in grade seven at Lord Byng Junior High School in Vancouver. She was the kindest and most generous of friends. I miss her.
To the McKenzie Family
Sad to hear of your mother’s passing. I know all of you and many others will miss her. She was such a positive, caring and loving person…..
Condolences and all the best….

We were so sorry to hear the sad news about Sheila. She was indeed a very special lady. We arrived in Calgary in the mid ’70s with one suitcase, (Jim was doing post-doctoral work at the University). Sue was lucky enough to land a job at the Foothills Hospital where she worked with Sheila. Sheila and Doug “took us under their wing” and were very generous to us. We were fortunate enough to be able to repay a small portion of their generosity when they visited us in Plymouth a couple of times. In 2008 we had a short visit with Sheila and saw the courage with which she was dealing with Parkinson’s. We have very, very fond memories of both Doug and Sheila and our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. We will be with you in spirit on the 15th.
To the family of Sheila McKenzie,
I was a Physiotherapist who worked with Sheila in Calgary. She was delightful and a lovely person to work with. She had such a love of life and people. It was an honor to know her and our thoughts go out to all of you at this sad time. She will be dearly missed.
Sincerely, Lillian (Bird) Rehak
I lived with Sheila when I was evacuated to Canada during the war and we stayed in touch by letter and visits ever since. I have many fond memories of a lovely lady. Our sincere condolences to all of Sheila’s family, she will be greatly missed.

Sheila and I started Grade 7 together so were school friends as well as pals in Dunbar Heights United Church Young People’s group. Then I was married in that church, the one Mr. Neff built. We go back a long way and memories keep flooding in. We got together whenever our paths crossed. Sheila stayed with me when she came for the 50th High School Grad reunion and how wonderful that was to share memories of some of the best days of our lives. We kept in touch over the years by e-mail, pictures and letters. I will miss her.
To all Sheila’s family, my husband Hugh and I send our sincere sympathy. May all the happy memories of your Mother support and comfort you at this sad time.
I send my sincere sympathy and condolences to the family of Sheila. She was such a beautiful, generous and gracious lady. We in Bow River Quilters were all enriched by her participation in our group.
I am so very sad to hear of Sheila’s passing. She and her late husband were towers of strength for the Clan Mackenzie Society in Canada. Always kind and exceptionally helpful, I for one will miss her very much.

We have happy memories of Sheila’s wonderful hospitality from when we used to visit Canada to see my sister, Catherine Fuller. Sheila had a great capacity for friendship and kept up with us even when she was ill. We are proud to have known such a lovely person.
My condolences to Sheila’s family. I first knew Shiela as an occupational therapist at the Holy Cross Hospital. We were discussing opera with Cathy Fuller one day and found out we were all attending with people who hated opera so decided to go together. We continued to do so for many years and I got to know Shiela. She was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor and I’ll miss her. She talked often of her family and her love for them.
We were saddened to learn of Sheila’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in their time of grief and relief.
So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a very special person and touched so many people in her lifetime. It was a priviledge to know her.

Our sincere condolences to you and your loved ones on the loss of your mother, friend, & grandmother. May our expression of sympathy help comfort you in this difficult time. Please know that we care and our thoughts are with you.

I was very sad to learn that your mom had passed. I used to groom Bonnie and Daisy and had many a conversation with your mom, I liked her very much! I could tell that her condition really annoyed her and that she was probably a real bundle of energy before the Parkinsons. She always struck me as being a very strong woman and a lover of animals (or dogs) I had to quit grooming due to a family illness, but I often wondered how your mom was doing. My deepest sympathies go out to you at this most difficult time.
My name was given to Sheila by one of her opera companions (my sister Rose) as a possible pet sitter for a Cairn Terrier name of Bonnie aka “Escape Artist”. Gosh that must have been 1995? It was a pleasure to care for Bonnie. Later Sheila & I began an e-mail correspondence consisting mostly of humorous pet photo’s, jokes or thoughts for the day. It was a DELIGHT knowing Sheila.
My condolences to the family.
It is with heavy hearts that we have learned of Sheila’s passing. We will miss her. She was a wonderful person and a great ambassador for Clan MacKenzie. Sheila was a most hospitable person, always making my family and I feel welcome at the Highland Games or at the MacKenzie Christmas Gathering. Thank you Sheila. To Sheila’s children and grandchildren, we are sorry for your loss, and we hope to see you at the Clan MacKenzie Tent in the near future.
Rest in Peace.
