Obituary of LUKICH – Mary

March 14, 1912 – April 21, 2010 Mary Lukich, wife of Voislav passed away at the Southwood Care Centre in Calgary on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the age of 98 years. Mary is survived by her daughter and son in-law Carol and John Devernichuk of Calgary, son and daughter in-law Fred and Mitzie Lukich of Calgary, and four grandchildren, Candy (Mitch) Peters, Penny Pomeroy, Cathy (Kevin) Fercho and Mike (Rose) Devernichuk all of Calgary. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Braedon, Landon and Cole Peters, Kaitlyn Fercho, Shawn (Amanda) and Nicole Casagranda, one great-great-granddaughter Marlie Casagranda, all of Calgary; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews living in various cities throughout Canada. Predeceased by her parents Wasyl and Gafetza Danchuk; husband Voislav; sister Lena; brothers Wasyl and Sam; grandson David; and grandsons- in-law Reg Pomeroy and Rick Jenkins. Mary was born in Insinger Saskatchewan on March 14, 1912 and later moved to a homestead near Foam Lake where she lived until meeting her husband Voislav (Bill). They lived in various places in Saskatchewan, eventually moving to Saskatoon where they raised their family and retired. In Saskatoon, Mary worked as a dietary aide at the University Hospital. When her husband retired they moved to Calgary to be with their children and grandchildren. She was very proficient at knitting, sewing and other crafts and loved to make things for her children and grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to meet at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, April 26, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
