Obituary of COTA – Betty Mignon

August 29, 1925 – April 14, 2010 Betty Cota of Calgary passed away on Wednesday April 14, 2010 at the age of 84 years. She was surrounded with love by family members, and will be deeply missed. Betty was born in Rapid City, Manitoba to Henry Gilbert Brownell and Amy Lucy Boyes. She shared her life with her husband and friend Charles R. Cota for 20 years before he passed. Their souls are now together again. Betty was a great friend and confidant to her sisters and brothers, Joan Wright, Norman Brownell, Alan Brownell and Thelma Tucker. Betty leaves behind three children, daughter Karen Pearson and sons Thomas Soltys and Jim Soltys. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Linda (Mitch), Andrew, Jennifer (Barry), Michelle (Shawn), Shannon (Dave) and Peter. She also leaves behind three treasured great grandkids, Kaleb, Owen and Adrian. Her friends, including those at the Colonel Belcher Lodge, will miss her dearly. Her strength, courage, love and sense of humour were an inspiration to us all, and we have a lifetime of memories to sustain us. Always to be remembered for her spicy sense of humour and enthusiasm for life. What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us. We miss you Betty.
