Obituary of SUDAK – Janina

March 22, 1927 – April 14, 2010 Janina Sudak passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her Calgary family; sons Christopher Sudak and his wife Kathleen and Leszek Sudak and his wife Elisabeth; grandchildren, Sebastian and Lukasz; sister Halina Gil; nephews, Mark Lesniewski and Richard Gil. Janina is also survived by her family in Poland, brother Czeslaw; sister Czeslawa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jozef; parents Kornelia and Adolf; brother Walter of Edmonton, and brothers Stanislaw, Jozef, Wiktor and Jan, and nephew Leszek of Poland; sisters Apolonia and Jadwiga of Poland and sister Stanislawa of Calgary. Janina was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1959, since arriving she has lived in Edmonton and worked at the Royal Alexandra Hospitals until retirement and most recently has resided in Calgary since 2003. Janina was very active in the Roman Catholic Church and the Polish community in Edmonton and Calgary, Kolo Pan SPK Br. No. 6 and SPK Br. No. 18, TPK, Holy Rosary Ladies Sodality, Saint Cecylii Choir. The highlight of Janina’s final years was, the time she devoted to the care, nurturing and upbringing of her beloved grandchildren. “She will always be remembered” Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W. Calgary, AB) on Saturday , April 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. A second Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (11485 – 106 Street Edmonton, AB) on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Edmonton, AB.
