Obituary of CAY – Domiciano

August 9, 1933 – April 13, 2010 Domiciano Cay, beloved husband of Anicia Cay of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at the Foothills Hospital, at the age of 76 years. Dom was born on August 9, 1933, to Asisclo and Flora Cay, in Lobo, Batangas, Philippines. He graduated from Far Eastern University of the Philippines and later obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) accounting designation. He married Anicia on May 29, 1960 then immigrated to Calgary in 1973; his wife and children followed in 1975. Dom worked at North American Life Insurance as a life insurance agent. In 1977, he opened his own public accounting firm (Cay Accounting Services) providing accounting and tax services to small businesses. Dom was a respected member of the Filipino community known for his kindness, generosity and most importantly, a great sense of humour. Dom is known to his friends and family as the proud husband of Anicia, the loving father to daughters Angelina (Robert) Watkins of Toronto and Amy (Tony) Tan of Calgary; sons Danny (Phoebe), Fred (Cristina), and Dante (Mary-Joy) all of Calgary. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren (Angelo, Shane, Kaesha, Patrick, Aaron, Sarah, Brandon, Julia, Alicia, Alexa, and Alonzo) who adored him and called him “Tito”. He is the big brother of Marciano and Orlando of Calgary and Fidela Collado of Nevada. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Abundio and Leandro; and sisters Adelaida, Aurora, and Linda. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Thursday, April 15 and Friday, April 16, 2010 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive N.E.) on Saturday April 17, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
