Obituary of GOUGH – Thomas Alfred

April 6, 1926 – April 12, 2010 Tom Gough of Calgary passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Tom is survived by his daughter Lesley Heysel and grandsons David and Patrick. He is also survived by his brother Frank (Betty) Gough of Ontario and other relatives in Nova Scotia. Tom was predeceased by his best friend and confidante, his wife Marjory in 2005; his parents Alice and Frank Gough; and his sister Jean Maynard. Tom loved life and lived it fully and touched the lives of everyone he met in unique and special ways. He cherished his daughter and grandsons and was a constant source of support and fun for them. He was a wonderful uncle, godfather, mentor and tireless community volunteer for the CNIB, United Way, Distress Centre, Pastoral and Palliative Care programs, the many Anglican churches he attended as well as being a Mason. Tom enlisted in the Royal Canadian Engineers and served until 1954 when he joined TransCanada Pipelines. He worked there until 1988 when he retired. Tom’s other passions included horses, military bands and the Calgary Stampede. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) at a later date.
