Condolences
Dear Wayne, Grant, Gordon & family,
My wife Carol and I send our condolences to all of you. In addition to seeing Ileine at Atlantic-Garden City United Church where she was a very faithful member I visited her in her home. These visits were always enjoyable since she always showed an interest in others and what they were doing. As I recall these visits always happened over a cup of tea and a snack of some kind. If memory serves me correctly Ileine was a volunteer visitor in the 1980’s for Winnipeg Presbytery, visiting or keeping in touch with retired United Church ministers or their widowed spouses. I’m sure she excelled at this because she was such a good conversationalist. We will have fond memories and we know you will miss her.
Sincerely,
Doug & Carol Martindale

The Manitoba Shell Retirees would like to send our condolences to the Hanna family in the loss of Ileine. Ileine’s late husband Bert and Ernie were on our 1st. executive and were known as the Bert and Ernie show. After Berts passing Ileine still remained a member of our group even after she had moved to Calgary. Ileine was a great person and personally I used to visit her and we had some great talks.
Although we were fairly closely related – Ileine married my dad’s cousin, Bert – I never really got to know Ileine until about 10 years ago. When we visited them in Winnipeg they made us feel very welcome. We really liked Ileine – we saw her a few times in Calgary and she was always happy and positive. I wish I’d got to know her and Bert earlier. Our thoughts are with her children and their families.
I am very saddened to hear of the passing of your loving mother. She was a comfort to me following the death of my own mother, Natalie (Andrews) Mowat. The two of them had a friendship that went back a long way. “Auntie” Ileine’s love for her family was boundless, and she extended some of that to me. She will always be remembered. Lesley
Dear Wayne, Grant, Gordon and family
Our family is sorry to hear about the passing of Aunt Iliene and extend our sympathies to you. We know the last few years have been stressful for her. When Paul & I visited a couple of years ago, we saw a women who wanted to remember so much and tell so much but couldn’t. Our family will remember and treasure many memories from bygone years especially when she & Uncle Bert came to Toronto and when I stayed with her in Winnipeg a few years ago.
Best Wishes during this time and always, your cousin June and family.
Dear Wayne, Grant, Gordon and families,
I am saddened by the death of your dear mother.
Ileine became a good friend and will be greatly missed at our table.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Olga Treen
My deepest sympathies and condolences go out to the entire Hanna family for your loss. I had only known Ileine for a short time, but I know that she was loved and admired by all of you. She was blessed to have you watch over and care for her as you all did.
Dear Wayne, Grant, Gordon and families
Merill phoned on Sunday to let me know of your mom’s death and I saw the obituary in Tuesday’s and today’s WFP. We send our condolences to you at this sad time for one who lived her life well. I always enjoyed visits with your parents in Winnipeg while we were there the first time and our Christmas correspondence up until recently. I asked Merrill to let us know about the burial in Winnipeg this summer if it was open to friends to attend. Best wishes and God’s blessing.
Dennis and Amy
Her son Gord is a colleague of mine. While I didn’t know Ileine, I feel I know something of her through my relationship with him.
Gord, we are sorry for your loss and extend our sympathies to you and your family.
Richard and I extend our sympathy to
Ileine’s family. For several years after she moved to Calgary we exchanged notes with our Christmas cards. Mrs Hanna was always so interested in everything around her that the notes were a delight to read. We’ll miss her.
