Obituary of HORN – Keith Chalmers

November 16, 1926 – April 5, 2010 Keith Horn loving husband of Dora of Calgary, passed away peacefully Easter Monday morning at the age of 83 years. Keith was born in Somerset, Mb, where he grew up and farmed with his father. He dreamed of the Calgary chinooks on many a Manitoba cold winter morning when he had to get up to milk the cows. He later moved on to Winnipeg, Saskatoon and finally Calgary in his capacity as a salesman. Family and friends were very important to Keith and he took special interest and pleasure in his grandchildren. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Order, the Al Azhar Shrine Temple, the Northwest Commercial Travellers Association and McDougall United Church. Besides his wife, Keith is also survived by his children Darlene of Edmonton, Robert of Sooke, B.C., James of Calgary, Maryann (Ken) Thrower of Calgary, Greg (Sandy) Kinzel of Calgary, and Grant Kinzel of Calgary; as well as seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Keith is also survived by his two sisters Mavis (Rob) McAllister of Mission, B.C. and Shirley (Art) Horn/Fahl of Calgary. Predeceased by his first wife Doreen, parents Hugh and Marjorie, son Scott Kinzel, and grandson Pvt. Chad Horn. The family wish to gratefully acknowledge the kind care and attention Keith received from Dr. Wong and the caring staff at Sarcee Carewest.
