Obituary of FRECKELTON – Don

October 22, 1946 – April 2, 2010 Don Freckelton beloved husband of Joyce and father of Christine of Calgary, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2010 at the age of 63 years. Don was born in Toronto where he received his education, graduating from the University of Toronto with honours, BSc., Geological Engineering. He was first employed in Africa, and later Northern Ontario with Inco. He continued mineral exploration across Canada with Esso Resources. In 1989 he began his first business in Calgary, as owner/operator of Print 3. Don enjoyed life with enthusiasm, whether scuba diving, travelling, or watching the Maple Leafs play. He was a dedicated Church member and participant at St. Barnabas Anglican Church. Don also enjoyed woodworking and will be remembered as a very generous man toward everyone. In his last years, Don had a passion for the Cursillo movement and enjoyed participating in retreats and meeting with his prayer buddies. Besides Joyce and Christine, Don is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Ray Morris, his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Joyce Freckelton. Don is also survived by Joyce’s family, Howard and Patty Rose, Dave and Sandy Rose, Joan, Jean and Jonathan Ouellet, Jim and Dawn Rose as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his parents Rose and William Freckelton, sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Robert Kenning, and his brother David Freckelton. A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church (1407 – 7th Avenue N.W.) on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Barnabas Anglican Churchyard.
