Obituary of MALONEY – Laura

April 4, 1924 – March 23, 2010 Laura Maloney passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the age of 85 years. Laura was born in Lethbridge, AB on April 4, 1924 to Norman Grier and Beatrice Connolly Grier. She grew up with her brother Alan and sister Marion, on the farm at Fort Macleod. She was proud to come from a pioneer family. Her Grandfather D.J. Grier, came west to Macleod with the NWMP in 1877. Laura married Allan Maloney in August 1950 and they had a son Allan Norman ‘Norm’ and a daughter Eloise. Laura was predeceased by Allan in 1964, son Norm in 1988 and by her siblings. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Eloise and Tim Krisa (High River) and her grandchildren, Kevin Krisa and Stacy Krisa (Both of Calgary). Also remembering Laura are six nieces and nephews and her lifelong “Old Pal”, Margaret Ingraham. The family wants to sincerely thank the dedicated staff at McKenzie Towne Care Centre for the kindness and care they showed Laura over the last few years of her life. A private family service will be held at a later date in Lethbridge.
