Obituary of ALOCHNA – Stefania

May 05, 1913 – March 14, 2010 Stefania passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by family on Sunday March 14, 2010 at the age of 96 years. Stefania was born in Barwaniszki, Poland. Her husband Bruno went off to war in 1939, leaving Stefania to raise their two sons on her own. When she came to Canada she and Bruno were reunited after twenty-five years of separation as a result of the war. Prior to coming to Canada Stefania was predeceased by her two sons, and in 1990 was predeceased by her husband Bruno. She is survived by her nephew Wojciech and his wife Dorota and their daughter Veronika as well as Teresa and her family all of Calgary. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W.) on Friday March 19, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
