Obituary of LOMOW – Gladys

February 24, 1910 – March 12, 2010 Gladys Lomow passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the wonderful age of 100 years. Born in Harbin, Manchuria, China, she and her family came to Canada in 1926 and settled in Penhold, AB, moving to Calgary where she met and married her husband in 1929 and later resettling in Burstall, SK. After farming for ten years they returned to Calgary in October 1940 and resided here until the present time. Gladys was an avid gardener and life-long volunteer for the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Kerby Centre. She is survived by her son Paul and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
