Obituary of SO – Po Lan

July 26, 1934 – March 12, 2010 Po Lan beloved wife of Yun Ming So, passed away on Friday March 12, 2010 at the age of 75 years. Po Lan was born on July 26, 1934 in Hoi Peng, China to proud parents of Yao Guang Kwan and Chung Fong Woo. She passed away suddenly on Friday morning after suffering a surprise massive heart attack! She was taken away from us but her love and legacy remain. She lived in Hong Kong until 1974, when she and family moved and settled down in Calgary until this last day; where she called home for the last 36 years. During such time she worked at the Calgary Tower and made numerous friends. She was a proud member of the Lon Kong Association and was well known in China Town. Po Lan is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 60 years, Yun Ming So and her sons, Tommy Pui Keng, Jim Yu Leung (Dixie), god daughter Christina Chow (Cairo), all her grandchildren she loved dearly, Keith, Rene, Kristy, Deanna, Celina, Chelsea, Jonathan and Alexander. Po Lan is a devoted mother and will be deeply missed by her family, relatives and friends. Po Lan was predeceased by her son Stephen Yu Kuen, her mother Chung Fong Woo and her father Yao Guang Kwan.
