Condolences
Still thinking of you Kieran..you were a very special friend and we shared some magic moments at Whitefish…
Dear Anne,
I was very sad to read of Kieran’s passing. I have very fond memories of Kieran from the soccer trips we used to take. He was a very vibrant man with a huge heart and a fabulous smile. It is a great loss to the soccer community. Please accept my prayers for your family in this difficult time.

To Anne, Karen, Samantha, Eugene, and Kiara:
I would like to send my deepest condolences to you for your very sad loss. My heart goes out to you too along with many.
Kieran was my long time friend and mentor throughout my refereeing career. He will always live on in my dreams and passion on the field.
I’ll miss him greatly but feel privledged to have had him in my path in life.
Doug.
Kieran has been a good friend and a work partner. The suffering and pain he has had the last few years were beyond what any body can comprehend. May his soul rest in peace and my deepest sympathy to the family.
Kim & Irene Chan
I am so sorry for your loss. Kieran and I worked together for about 20 years, but we worked side by side at Fish Creek for the last few years. In those years working side by side you really get to know each other. You get to see a side of that person other people don’t. When I went through a divorce I had a very difficult time and I saw a caring and compasionate side of Kieran I don’t think many people know about. For the support I got from him I will always be grateful.
I also saw the man who was always so supportive and proud of his children and their accomplishments. His family was important to him.
He was my friend and I will miss him.

My thoughts are with you. I am sorry that I can not be there today to honour someone who was so highly regarded within our soccer community. I will never forget his presence on and off the field.
To Kieran’s Family
As an upcoming referee in the City of Calgary I had the privilege to work with and get to know Kieran as an excellent Referee and a wonderful person.
I was shocked to hear the news about his passing.
He’ll be sadly missed.
My thoughts are with you during this sad time.
Very saddened to hear of Kieran’s passing. He will be fondly remembered in the soccer world. May your hearts carry only happy memories!!
I used to see him at work. Obviously not so much over recent years. I have missed his smiling face and sense of humour coming in the door. It was always a bright spot in my day when he came in. My deepest sympathies to the McGarrigle clan. He will be sorely missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Anne, Karen, Eugene and Samantha. I have known Kieran for many years in the Calgary soccer community and I have been best friends with Eugene since ’95. Kieran has always offered a smile and a chuckle (usually at my expense). His charm and charisma is a gift we will all miss dearly. He fought bravely and our memories of him will be cherished.
Mike & Lisa Jamieson
My sincere sympathy to you and your family, Anne. I will not forget all the times, both on and off the field, I spent with Kieran over the years. He was very influential in helping me to become the best referee I could. I always held his ability to manage a game as a model for me.
I’ll also remember the hours that Kieran, Mike and I used to spend every winter for 3 years in my basement writing the Indoor Manual for the upcoming season. Kieran used to then take great delight when he was in the box assisting me on the field, to let me know I made mistakes even though I had help write the rule book.
I am saddened that Kieran’s life had to be shortened more than it should have been.

Just wanted to send my condolences. I met your father years ago playing soccer. Although I did not know him well, if he was anything like Eugene he was a good man. So Sorry for your loss.
Our sincere condolences go out to Anne Karen, Samantha, Eugene and the rest of the family in Canada and Ireland. I have known the family for years and have played on the Fishcreek soccer team with Kieran for a number of years. I have also refereed with Kieran in Calgary, Whitefish and other glorious spots throughout Canada (including the infamous Grassy Lake).
We both have fond memories of Kieran from playing, singing and the occasional small libation(or two) with him. I still fondly remember his 50th. birthday party in the house with some of us dressed up with balloons on our heads to imitate his own hair style.
We will miss Kieran and the family will be in our prayers
My deepest sympathies go out to Kieran’s family.
You had a great smile and you were passionate in your beliefs…you left an everlasting impact on the Provincial and Canadian soccer community. Time well spent Kieran…you’ll be missed but not forgotten.
Our hearts and thoughts are with your family.
Love ya Kieran. Will miss you. Our thoughts are with your family.
Samantha and family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
He fought one heck of a fight and I’ll always remember how funny he was.

To Kieran’s Family. As a long time soccer player in Calgary, I have been reffed by Kieran many times, including the last outdoor game I played last summer.
I knew he was ill, but was shocked and very saddened to hear of his passing. He was a straight up guy with a good sense of humor, an excellent ref who obviously loved the game and he had a great feeling for the game and reffed with common sense. He was very much respected by all players for both his skill and dedication (even if we may have disagreed with his calls, from time to time :) ).
I am so sorry for his passing. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Sincerely,
Doug Demetrick

Hello, this is Robert Palmer from Rangers FC, on the west side of Calgary. We were fortunate enough to have Kieran as a referee many times over the years, and there was never any question that he was one of the very best there was. I am terribly sorry to hear of his passing and offer my sincere condolences.
To Anne, Karen, Eugene, Samantha & Kiara, please accept our sincerest condolences & heartfelt sympathy at this very sad time in your lives, but always take pride in knowing that he fought a very brave, long hard battle and you can all take comfort now in knowing that he is no longer suffering. God Bless you all..XO
