Obituary of BRYANT – Amy Ellen

August 15, 1916 – March 8, 2010 Ellen Bryant, former resident of Big Hill Lodge, passed away peacefully with family members by her side at the Brentwood Care Centre, Calgary, on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the age of 93 years. Mrs. Bryant was born August 15, 1916 at Kamiak Butte, a locale between Palouse and Pullman, Washington, USA. At a very young age, her family moved to Champion, AB, the grain country, and in 1931 to Cochrane where she completed her education. She then worked as a Seamstress and later as a Nursing Aide at the Baker Memorial Sanatorium, Bowness. She married David Bryant on September 10, 1936 and they settled down to raise their family in Grand Valley, the valley they both loved. Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Dave, her brother, Bud Ullery, and son-in-law Donald Edge. She is survived by her son David (Betty), two daughters, Dorothy Edge and Lillian (Rob); three grandchildren, Gary (Jill), Bary (Dulcy), Dallas (Kevin); and five great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Andy, Jason, Shelby and Shayla. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church (128 – 1st Street East, Cochrane, AB) on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. You may forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
