Obituary of TESTIN – Marie Ann

May 10, 1919 – March 7, 2010 Marie Testin of Calgary passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the age of 90 years. Marie was born in Seele bei Gottschee, Austria and immigrated to New York City in 1937. She married Frank Testin in Kitchener, ON and moved to Calgary in 1942. Marie was a long time member of the Catholic Women’s League at Sacred Heart and Holy Name Parishes. Marie’s love of cooking was her way of caring for her family. Together with Frank they spent many joyous hours preparing dinners for their family and friends. They worked well together as a team. Frank was the expert with the entrée and Marie’s specialty was all the trimmings and dessert. Marie is survived by her son Frank Testin of Edmonton; son-in-law Ralph Clark; three grandchildren Helen and her husband Ivan Sgarbossa, Ronald Clark and Michael and his wife Maria Clark; four great-grandchildren David and Stephen Sgarbossa, Sophie and Nicholas Clark, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-four years, Frank Testin in 1996, her daughter Mary Clark in 1996, four brothers and two sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 – 34th Street S.W.) on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
