Obituary of FEA – Frederick Robert Bert

May 16, 1917 – March 6, 2010 Frederick Robert “Bert” Fea beloved husband of Isabel (Ames) Fea of Calgary, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the age of 92 years. Bert was born near Saltcoats, SK on May 16, 1917. Bert received a BA from U of S in 1939, an additional chemistry major in 1942 and Education degrees from U of C during the 1960’s. Bert worked in control labs in a munitions plant near Winnipeg during WW II, and for Robin Hood Flour Mills in Moose Jaw and Calgary. In 1962, he switched to teaching high school chemistry for the CBE which he enjoyed until retiring in 1982. Besides his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Isabel (Ames) Fea, Bert is survived by three sons, Bob (Carol) of Saskatoon, Fraser of Calgary, and Brian (Dale) of Okotoks; five grandchildren, Patrick, Ryan, Scott, Kelley, and Sheri (Entwistle, Jason); and five great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Taylor-Anne, Madison, Brooklyn, and Piper-Laurie. Bert was predeceased by his granddaughter-in-law Cathy (Patrick) on November 27, 2009. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to thank the staff of Unit 94 of The Rockyview Hospital for all their caring, attentiveness, and support.
