Obituary of HAMILTON – Nancy Jean

October 25, 1958 – March 4, 2010 It is with sadness, but no regrets that I announce my death on Thursday, March 4, 2010. I did not consider myself a loser in life so I will not consider myself a loser in death, therefore I DID NOT lose a battle to cancer. Cancer entered my life, I dealt with it and carried on the best I could. I leave to celebrate my life my husband Carlisle Scott and my father Jim Hamilton; my brother Harry (Judy), his children Michael (Lana), Jessica (Dave Scholley), plus my grandnephews and grandniece, Brady, Reid and Jordan. I also leave my parents-in-law, Rae and Irene Scott, siblings-in-law Daryl (Cam), Sandra (Grant McKay), Wendy (Bob Petryk) and nieces and nephews Lisa, Brian, Kay and David. I was predeceased by my mother, Marion Hamilton in 2000 and my husband Chester Schesnuik in 2003. I was born and raised in Calgary with a ten year hiatus in Edmonton, then back to Calgary and ended up of all places in Saskatoon ! I spent most of my career working in the area of Dermatology. Before venturing there I did spend a year and a half in a law firm that led to an irreplaceable life long friendship with Jason. I spent twelve years with Dr. Sylvia Martin, after which she closed her practice and we founded Medique Cosmetics. I left Medique after five years and returned to Dermatology by being Clinic Manager for Dermatology Associates. Following which at the age of 47 I became a flight attendant for Westjet. Who knew they hired that age and this height ! I have been very fortunate to have worked with all of the people that I have. I may have had a shorter life than originally planned but I feel I lived it to the fullest. My only regret may be turning down French fries all those years ! I would especially like to thank Dr. V. Ramanna, a remarkable and compassionate physician, and Palliative Care Support, whom were outstanding. A most important acknowledgement to my sister-in-law, Sandra Scott for all her help – I couldn’t have managed without her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the charity of your choice, make it a good one ! Bye for now. A Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
