QUITZON Erlinda Gilo

Obituary of QUITZON – Erlinda Gilo

1938 –2010 Erlinda (Linda) Quitzon passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the age of seventy-one years. Although her passing was sudden to those who loved her, we are comforted by the thought that she is in peace and has joined her beloved husband, Bobby. She was a devoted mother and generous friend, who will be greatly missed for her silly sense of humour, unwavering strength and boundless generosity. In her early 20s as a Registered Nurse, Linda emigrated from the Philippines to North America as an adventure and immersed herself into the culture, traveling through the United States and finally settling in Calgary. After retiring from nursing at the age of 55, Linda continued to enjoy life. She loved to travel, play golf, watch NFL football and garden. One of her travels took her back to the Philippines on a family medical mission, where she donated her nursing skills to those in need. Her philanthropic work continued on many trips to the Philippines where she helped the people of her hometown. Linda is survived by her children Karen (Ian) and Robert(Pauline); her best friend Myrna Diocson; her 3 brothers (Samson, Percival, Adonis) in the Philippines; her sister (Vernon) in Calgary; and numerous friends and family. Linda was predeceased by her husband Bobby Quitzon in 2006 and two brothers (Romeo and Manuel) in the Philippines.
