Obituary of REDDEKOPP – Mary

January 17, 1932 – February 25, 2010 Mary Reddekopp of Calgary passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the age of 78 years, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Mary was born and raised in Altona, MB. In 1949, she married George Reddekopp and moved to Alberta shortly thereafter. Here she spent the rest of her years. Mary was a very kind and giving person, who touched the lives of many. Her love for music encouraged others as she gently shared her knowledge with her piano students. She enjoyed baking and working in her garden, and also loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and, more lately, the great-grandchildren. Left behind, always to love and remember, are her son Wayne; daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Stan Bold, and Sharon and Peter Schaber; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christina, Sheldon and Brooklyn Fehr, Matthew, Beth and Keegan Bold, Joshua and Daniel Bold, Benjamin, Nicolas and Jacob Schaber, Darren and Leighann Bold, Steffany Colvinns and Mike Fischer. Also mourning her loss are her sister and brother-in-law Helen and Bill Funk, and sister Susie Loewen, as well as many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband George Reddekopp; parents, Henry and Helen Thiessen; brother Abe; and step mom Marie Thiessen. We have the blessed assurance that Mary knew where she was going and is now in the presence of the Living God. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
