Obituary of DUPUIS – Irene Nellie Marie

October 29, 1926 – February 24, 2010 Irene Dupuis of Okotoks, Alberta, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the age of 83 years, after a long battle with cancer. Irene was born in Belle River, ON., where she married and raised her family. She spent many years volunteering for the Royal Canadian Legion # 399 Women’s Auxiliary. In 1996, Irene moved to the Calgary area to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Irene was an avid bowler, with a passion and talent for gardening. Cherished mother of Kenneth (Phyllis) Dupuis and daughter Claire (Hiram) Burgar; dearest Mimi of nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. Sister of Vincent Laporte of Belle River, Euclide Laporte of London, Donald Laporte of Windsor, Lorraine Beyma of Waterford, Michigan, Romeo Laporte of Belle River, Colleen Deschaine of Belle River, and Bernice Delaurier of Nipissing. Irene will also be lovingly remembered by many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Norman; son Robert; daughter Annette and brother Russell. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass and Graveside Services will take place in Belle River, at a later date.
