Obituary of MARSTON – Robert Higginson

January 22, 1921 – February 19, 2010 With sad hearts, the family of Robert Marston announces that he passed away peacefully at the Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane, Alberta, on Friday, February 19, 2010 at the age of 89 years. Bob was the beloved husband for fifty-seven years of the late, Jean (Ramsay) Marston. Bob and Jean were married on August 22, 1949 and started farming in Airdrie. They then moved to Bearspaw in 1951 where the family farm remains today. He will be lovingly remembered for loyalty to family, friends, and neighbours, along with his determined character and strong sense of work ethic. His love of the land, raising cattle, and being a farmer were prominent throughout his life. Bob took great pride each year selling his calves with the M brand at the Calgary Stockyards. 5 Dad will be fondly remembered. He was one of the last original dairy farmers of the Bearspaw area, and will be missed by all. Bob is survived by his daughter Maureen and her two children, his precious grandsons Shane and John Ramsay (J.R) Garyk. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Jean (2007); his first daughter, Caroline (1957); his oldest daughter Margaret (2008); and his oldest sister, Emily Duncan.
