Obituary of SEMMENS – David Nelson

November 29, 1944 – February 18, 2010 David Nelson Semmens beloved husband of Judy Semmens of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2010 following a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimers Disease at the age of 65 years. Dave was born in Vancouver and went to school in West Vancouver, and later UBC where he earned his degrees in Economics and English. He began his career with The Bank Of Nova Scotia in Montreal on June 6, 1966. His career with the Bank took him to Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and finally Calgary from where he retired in 2002. Following his retirement, Dave and Judy enjoyed extensive travel to many countries. Dave was active in the Parkland Community where he had served as President of the Community Association. He was also active with his son’s sports activities, including hockey and soccer. Dave will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful and considerate man with a great sense of humour, who was respected by his peers and business associates. He will be deeply missed by his family, especially. Dave is survived by his wife Judy, two sons and daughters in law, Chris and Krista; Dan and Keri-Ann; five grandchildren Kiara, Trystan, William, Jack and Aubrey. He is also survived by two brothers Rick and Roger; a sister and brother-in-law Sandra and David Camp, and a number of nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased his parents Harold and Audrey Semmens and a brother John. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
