Obituary of BESTIANICH – John Joseph

November 13, 1930 – February 17, 2010 John Bestianich, beloved husband of Sheila Bestianich, passed away on Wednesday February 17, 2010 at the age of 79 years. John was born in Princeton, B.C., but lived most of his life in Calgary. He worked for the federal department of agriculture for more than 35 years, retiring in 1986. He was an avid photographer, capturing the beauty of nature. John made life-long friends, some dating back to his days at St. Mary’s High School, he made many more through his involvement in photography, hiking and cross-country skiing clubs. He was eager to meet new people and visit new places, traveling often with his wife and family. Besides his wife of almost 55 years, Sheila, John will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Michele (Tony) Broadhurst, son Paul, grandchildren; Daniel, Tegan and Christopher, brother George (Pamela) Bestianich, his sister Mary (Charles) Holder, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ron and Jean Bosada, as well as nieces and nephews in Calgary and Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Helen. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday February 22, 2010 at 7:00 pm.
