Obituary of VOGT – Garry

August 13, 1940 – February 15, 2010 Garry Vogt passed away suddenly while vacationing in Arizona on Monday, February 15 2010 at the age of 69 years. Garry was born in Lockwood, Saskatchewan. His parents Suzanna and Paul Vogt were farmers in the area. He lived in the area until his graduation from high school. Garry attended the University of Saskatchewan. He obtained a diploma in Agriculture as well as a B.Comm. He lived in Calgary for most of his adult life where he worked as a chartered accountant and financial planner. Although he was passionate about his career and his clients, the last few years had allowed him to enjoy retirement. He moved to Lacombe to enjoy a slower pace of life. He continued to spend summers at the cabin in Atton’s Lake, Sask., and spent winters in Arizona. He was passionate about golf, he loved to read, and he enjoyed the fellowship of those closest to him. He had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them immensely. He leaves to mourn his son Michael (Lyn) and their children Elizabeth and Aimee, his daughter Holly and her son Jayce, his brother Alfred (Muriel) and his good friend and companion Judy. The void he has left for us is immense. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye, for now, to such a wonderful man. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 2:00p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
