A Tribute – Our Journey
During our journey through this life, we are taught many lessons from many teachers,
our first are our greatest.
From our first breath to unsteady first steps, we are taught to stand strong,
Encouraged to move forward, one foot ahead of the other,
we are taught to walk, then we learn to run,
–our journey has begun,
As we grow we are given and taught the basic necessities required for daily living
through years of training, and instruction,
–our education continues.
We are instructed and learn quickly, eagerly and patiently everyday
who we are, who we want to be and how to accept who we are becoming,
–our journey continues.
We are taught how to conduct ourselves in public, in private and in business,
–our education continues.
We learn how to work, provide, love, interact, respect others and raise families,
–our journey continues.
But from all the obstacles we overcome,
from all the knowledge we gain,
from all the lessons we are taught,
from all the countless teachers we meet along the way,
none are as important, loving, forgiving, supportive, harsh or forever unforgettable
as the two that come together to create—from LOVE—
the life force that brings us crying and screaming into this world.
Through all of our life lessons, NOT ONE teaches our hearts how to say good-bye
to the most important ones responsible for our very existence.
Through our living we have to learn and accept this lesson on our own.
No matter what our relationship with them is, was or used to be,
we now will learn what loss and lost truly is.
As we were at the beginning, again we are in pain, unsteady, crying and afraid.
but we MUST stand strong, we MUST move forward, one foot ahead of the other,
we MUST continue to learn and continue to teach to others,
we MUST LIVE in TRIBUTE to the teachers that created us, raised us, sacrificed for us and gave us the freedom and opportunity to become who and what we are and who and what we want to be.
They’re legacy, our very lives is they’re gift to us
our gift to them — is to complete OUR JOURNEY.
