Condolences
Richard, Heather, Stuart, Kay and Family;
Please accept my (our) belated condolences on the passing of Jack. I was ill (and Heather is away) and could not attend Jack’s Funeral Service, and visit with you in person, then.
I first met Jack in mid. to late 1970s when we were both serving on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (CSEG); he as Past President, and I as Executive Secretary.
Later in the early and middle 1980s I was his Frontier District Geophysicist at Suncor, when he was their Exploration Vice President.
Unfortunately our work together at Suncor was prematurely disrupted during the widespread “downsizing” of all oil companies’ exploration departments in 1986-1987+ period; when we both found ourselves transformed into self-employed G & G Consultants! A new professional experience, that we both eventually succeeded in.
But our time working together left me with a great respect for Jack’s relentless determination, high energy level, and dedication to scientific and professional excellence. Indeed, Jack led a very full life and made it clear to all, that it is impossible “to keep a good man down”!
May God bless, comfort and help you all recover from your great loss.
“God’s fingers touched him, and he slept”.
Tennyson: In Memoriam LXXXV.
Rich and Heather
I worked with Jack at Talisman Energy. It was an honour to know him. He was a kind and caring gentleman. RIP Jack.
Jack was always a great fellow – at the many CSEG events that he attended – and he was a President of the CSEG back in the 70’s. Jack leaves a very good legacy in the geophysical community. I also met him at singing events in Calgary. May I offer sincere condolences to his family – may you have many wonderful memories of Jack and his life with you.
Jack, may you go with God.
Our Deepest Sympathies to the Pullen Family.
He is reunited with Carol.
May they play the piano and sing for all those above.
Rest in Peace Jack.
I worked under Jack back in the eighties at Suncor, and the impression he left on me stayed with me through the remainder of my career. A great geophysicist and a great people person, an inspiration to all those who have known him. Rest In Peace Jack, your work here is done.
Rick, Heather & Stuart, and all your families, including Carol’s family: I am deeply saddened to hear of Jack’s passing, and to know of your loss. He was someone who expressed his love and interest so consistently, with compassion and humour. I recall fun times at the home you shared in Calgary, enjoying the wonders of the Stampede with you; crossing paths over the years as travels brought Alberta and Ontario closer together periodically; his faithfulness in hand-writing letters to his mom, Flossie, who shared the news with us in the Brubaker household; and his diligence in seeking out his father’s history, enriching all of us with that lost relationship. May you be surrounded with the love of family and life, as you grieve together his passing.
with love to all,
Nancy
Heather and family
