Obituary of PREST – Gordon Alexander
June 28, 1925 – January 25, 2010
Gordon passed away peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2010 surrounded by the family he loved so much.
Gordon leaves to mourn, his wife of 58 years, Peggy, his children Gordon Jr., John (Carol) and Kathryn (James); his grandchildren Jenna, Gord, Michael, Jayson and Andrea; his brother in-law Lionel Neil (Theresa) and numerous nieces and nephews. Gordon was born and raised in Prince Albert, Sask. and received his CA degree in 1951. Gordon moved to Calgary with his bride to work in the Oil and Gas industry. He enjoyed the challenges of the drilling business working for Westburne and Bow Valley Industries in Calgary, London England and Denver Colorado. Gordon was an avid golfer and member of the Earl Grey Golf Course and enjoyed skating with the Calgary Senior Skaters. He was a dedicated Flames fan, but his biggest passion was collecting antiques and various memorabilia. He looked forward to the yearly family reunions in Waskesiu, Sask. Gordon’s family will remember him as a gentle, devoted and caring husband, father and a wonderful “Papa” to all his grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff in Unit 62 at the Foothills Hospital for their care and support.
