Obituary of McLEAN – Marie Blanche

October 31, 1915 – January 21, 2010 Marie McLean of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the age of 94 years. Marie was born and raised in Quebec. In 1941 Marie and Art married and his career with the Royal Canadian Air Force took them to Saskatoon. Following WWII they returned to Quebec City and shortly after moved to Calgary in 1948. Marie worked for many years as a Seamstress at Eaton’s, retiring as the head of the custom drapery department in 1976. Marie and Art were active parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Marie was an active member of the ladies quilting guild. Marie was known for her warm hospitality and amazing cooking. Marie and Art were loved by all. Marie is survived by her brother-in-law Ralph MacLean of Calgary and sisters-in-law Laurette Pouliot and Mariette Pouliot of Quebec; numerous adoring nieces and nephews, and her closest friends. Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur of 51 years. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 – 14 Street S.W.) on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery “St. Joseph’s Section”.
