Obituary of CLARK – Jeanette

May 19, 1928 – January 19, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanette Clark on Tuesday January 19, 2010 at the age of 81 years. Jeanette was born in Calgary, Alberta on May 19, 1928 to Otto and Augusta Thomas. She grew up in the Kootenay Valley and went to school in Nelson, BC where as a young girl helped her father in the family’s butcher shop. She gained an early passion for fishing which lead into a passion for the outdoors. In the early fifties Jeanette moved back to Calgary where she met a young soldier, Roland, that captured her heart. They married on August 11, 1956 and had five children, Mary (William) Storey, Kathy (Joe) Durante, Joyce Beckett, Richard (Karen) and Trish Clark (Sal Giacchetta). They had ten grandchildren; Ashleigh, Brett, Jake, Michael, Jennifer, Brandy, Amanda, Zane, Rees and Eliot and a great grandson Michael. Her beloved husband Roland predeceased her in 2002 after 46 years of marriage, as well as her sisters Irma and Elsie and brother Kurt. After raising their family, Jeanette and Roland became world wide adventures traveling across the globe from Alaska to South America and from the deep darkest of Africa to the head waters of the Amazon. They both loved to fish and fished often, catching Tiger fish in Zimbabwe and Striped Marlin in Cabo. Jeanette was a great wife, a fabulous mother, a generous grandmother and will be missed by all. Jeanette was a resident of the Beverly Centre in Midnapore since 2004 and the family would like to thank them for all the love and attention over the years.
