Obituary of ZIVKUSIC – Jure

February 14, 1923 – January 19, 2010 Jure Zivkusic, beloved husband of Ruza Zivkusic of Calgary, passed away on January 19, 2010 at the age of 86 years. Jure was born on February 14, 1923 in Sipovaca, Hercegovina. He and Ruza were married in January 1952 and moved first to Slavonija, then to Germany, and finally to Calgary in 1968. Jure loved doing things around the house, working with Ruza in the garden, and going for walks. He loved watching wrestling, and most of all loved people. He will be very sadly missed by his family and friends. Besides his loving wife Ruza of 58 years, Jure will be sadly missed by their daughters Jadranka (Franjo) Brinovac, and Maria (Mato) Stivanicevic; son Vlado Zivkusic; grandchildren Ivo, Blaz, Deanna, Martin, and Suzy; great-grandchildren Carlo and Issaiah; brother Walter (Vinka) Zivkusic; sister Mila (Blago) Grbovac; and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, Croatia, and Hercegovina. Jure was predeceased by his parents Ciril and Iva Zivkusic; brother Srecko and sister-in-law Dragica; and brother Nikola and sister-in-law Stana. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Our Lady Of Marija Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church (14680 Deer Ridge Drive S.E.) on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery.
