Condolences
I was so shocked to hear of Roberts passing. Robert and his family were very close friends of ours so many years ago and since we have lost touch. I know Robert would have been a very loving husband and father and I was so sorry to hear that he was gone. I truly wish we would have kept in touch over the years….he was a very special person and a great friend and we were all lucky to have known him. Thinking of you.
Have thought a lot about Rob over the last few months. He and I went through some tough times a few years ago and had a chance to touch base and discuss what was important to us. Rob was undeniably focused on Karen, Jared and Hailey – his true loves. Is there anything more important than family? I miss him.
Thinking of you all in this time of sorrow. Please accept our sympathy.
I worked with Rob for several months in 2003. He made a big impact on me. He was kind and generous with his time. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. He will be greatly missed.
Sincerely,
Bev Flemmer

My deapest sympathies to Karen and family.
I used to work with Rob many years ago at Calgary’s Central Mental Health Clinic. I was fortunate enough to have the office next to Rob’s and enjoyed his friendly demeanor and sense of humour. He and Cathy were responsible for teaching me how to play squash which I continue to enjoy.
Rob always spoke of his family with love and pride and I know he will be saddly missed.
I now live in Ontario so I shall not be in attendance on Fri. but you and Rob will be very much in my thoughts.
Maureen
Dear Karen and family,
I had the great privilege of working with Rob way back at the Calgary General Hospital when I was doing my psychiatry rotation at the Carnat Centre on G1. I always respected Rob’s opinion on treating patients and was always impressed by his knowledge, common sense, and great sense of humour. He was an individual that you wanted to emulate and his legacy of caring and compassion will live on with all the students he helped educate. He will be sorely missed by the staff and patients here at Sunridge. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this time.
sincerely,
Margie Oakander

Karen and family:
Our sincere and deepest condolences for your loss of a great mental health worker. Like Blayne Fossen (a classmate of mine) we go back a long ways. I met Rob when I fisrt started at the General Hospital in 1980, only two floors below him, this being G6. He was a kind man who enjoyed his work to the very end. At times during our breaks, we would discuss real estate possibilities of purchasing property in Bearspaw, but financially being out of our reach, we could fantasize with a smile and a laugh. You’re strong, and our positive memories of Rob will comfort all of us through this time of sadness.
Karen,
We are so thankful to have known such a gentle man. His calm voice, warm smile, and his positive attitude were always contagious.
It was great to have known Rob when he was courting you, enjoyed being at your wedding, loved helping the two of you move, and truly enjoyed the opportunity to have been connected with both of you. Thinking of you, Jared and Hailey, at this sad time.
With love and hugs,
Kathy and Greg
I have known Rob since the Calgary General. He was a very sincere, kind and caring person. He will be missed by all that came in touch with him. My Thoughts and Prayers are With You and Your Family and May Mermories Help to Heal Your Sorrow. God Bless

We were saddened by the news of Rob’s passing, and can only wish you all strength and prayers in healing the pain that follows such a loss. We hadn’t gotten to know Rob as well as we would have liked, but are thankful for the opportunity to have met him. I know he will be dearly missed and forever remembered by everyone that knew him.
Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to all of you.
Karen, Jared and Hailey,
I can’t imagine how you are managing and I sincerely hope that the memories will sustain and inspire you. Rob was such a part of our mental health family and he has made the world a better place for so many people. I will someday pen the impact that he had on staff and clients so that you will have another testimony of his great spirit.
Susan
Karen and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Rob. My thoughts and prayers include you and your family in this difficult time.
I had not seen Rob for many years, but I am glad to have known him. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family.
It is with sadness that I read of Rob’s passing. I worked in Mental Health in Claresholm and got to know him thru work.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you all at this time.
Alison
Our deepest sympathies to Karen, Jared Hailey and the extended family. We will miss our groomsman, Sean’s Godfather and my good friend of almost 30 years. I am inspired by how Rob, Karen and family have handled this difficult time. Always dignified, always focused on each other and Jared and Hailey. I will miss so many things about Rob but the great memories help fill that void. I will forever have the memory of last week, when I leaned over to hug him, and almost collapsed his chair….he managed a smile.
Dear Karen and family,
My deepest condolences on the loss of your husband, father and brother. I worked with Rob on G8 Forensic unit at the old Calgary General Hospital and subsequently at the Central Mental Health Clinic at 1000 8th avenue SW for several years. Rob was the consumate professional Psychiatric Nurse was always putting the concerns of his patients and clients in the forefront. I learned alot from Rob and recall him frequently talking proudly of his wife and children. How much he loved you. I always felt that though his work was important and he was so very good at it, His main focus was his family. I will be out oif the country on Friday but will be with you and your family in my thoughts and prayers for that day and the days ahead.
Much love, Blayne
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Although we only knew Rob for a short time, we will all miss him very much.
Dear Karen & Family:
Our deepest heartfelt sympathy in the passing of Rob.
After knowing Rob for over 20 years & first meeting Rob at the good old General Hospital, I will miss talking with him over lunch at the Peter Lougheed Hospital.
Not too much phased Rob & I always referred to him as a “Kindred Soul”
I was just recently was told he was ill & my heart just broke as it is far too soon to have to have to say goodbye to a loved one & Rob loved life.
May you & your family find comfort in these difficult days ahead
