Obituary of HARNACK – John Henry

September 11, 1929 – January 11, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, father-in-law, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend John Harnack (Big John) on Monday, January 11, 2010. John was born on the family farm east of Crossfield. He left farming for a short period to work with James and Reimer in the oil patch, he often said those were some of the best years of his life. John returned to farming and purchased the family farm east of Airdrie where he worked with his brothers, George and Cecil. He retired from farming in 1992, to live his dream in front of his T.V. with his remote. He was an avid channel surfer, always stopping on a sports channel. He leaves behind his dear friend and companion of twenty-five years, Elaine Reid; his children Candace (Darren) Sandbeck, John (Lori) Harnack, Colleen Hackney, and Woody Ouderkirk; his grandchildren, the apple of his eye, Christina (Matt), Levi, Logan, Cole, Jessica and Breanna; and great-granddaughter Reegan. John was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1978; and his parents Alfred and Francis Harnack.
