Obituary of GESYLER – Leo Joseph

July 15, 1919 – January 10, 2010 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Leo Gesyler. He passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the age of 89 years. Leo was born in Souris, Manitoba on July 21, 1920. He served in WWII as a gunner; he also stood guard for the Queen of England. He was Honourably Discharged on December 13, 1945. Leo was predeceased by his wife Agnes Gesyler (nee Hagel) whom he married November 15, 1953 in Beiseker, where they called home for many years. They had two sons Tony (Sandy) Gesyler of Trochu, Alberta and Allen (Maryjane) Gesyler of Weyburn, Saskatchewan. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Gordon (Lisa) Gesyler of Hinton, Alberta and Christine (Jerry) Gesyler of Calgary; and five great grandchildren, Robert, Sarah, Kora, Techwynn, and Kaelynn. Thanks to Jean Tainsh and Dwen Campbell for their care and concern for Leo over the years. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells, (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
