Obituary of THOMPSON – Mark Brian

December 4, 1960 – January 10, 2010 Mark Thompson, beloved husband of Colleen Thompson of Calgary, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the age of 49 years. Mark was born and raised in Ponoka, attended PCHS and graduated from Mount Royal College as a Recreational Therapist. Mark loved life and his main focus in life was his family. An accomplished athlete, his greatest pleasure was watching his boys play hockey or discussing the Oilers with his family. He had a great love of the outdoors and was passionate about camping, fishing and holidays with his family. Mark showed great compassion to the mentally ill, increasing their quality of life with his BBQ’s and camping trips. Mark is survived by his loving wife Colleen; three sons, Kent (Lauren) of New Zealand, Jordan and Adam; his mother Ethel; two brothers, Wayne (Glenna) and Blair (Marselle); and numerous nephews and one niece. He was predeceased by his father Clarence.
