Obituary of DALGLEISH – Mary Camilla

June 10, 1930 – January 9, 2010 Our mother, Mary Dalgleish, passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughters in Calgary on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the age of 79. She was born in Consort, Alberta on June 10, 1930 to Andrew and Margaret Dalgleish. Mary spent her formative years in Drumheller. In 1947, she moved to Calgary where she attended Mount Royal College. After graduating from Mount Royal College, Mary worked at several Calgary oil companies where she met and in 1951 married Roy Gillespie. Together they had three daughters, Andrea, Susan and Melissa. With the exception of spending three years living in Victoria, Mary spent most of her adult life in Calgary. In 1984, Mary married Henry Sautter of Carstairs. Mary was a gracious and kind hearted soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. Our mom was passionately devoted to her three daughters, especially to Andrea, where Mom was a vigorous and tireless advocate on her behalf. Private, proud and fiercely loyal, our Mom put her children and their challenges first. Her love and support were always unconditional. Mary is sadly missed by her daughters Andrea Gillespie, Susan (William) Bradley and Melissa Gillespie (Brent Stickland); grandchildren Jeremy and Sophie, brother-in-law Mervyn Wallace, three nephews, Rick (Wendy), Doug (Nellie) and Bob (Laree), niece Laurie and their families. Mary was predeceased by her father Andrew, mother Margaret, sister Margaret Wallace and husband Henry Sautter. At Mary’s request, there will be no public Memorial Service. As a family, we will gather at a later date in Drumheller for an interment. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. We also wish to express our gratitude to Chinook Hospice for their generous spirit and loving care of our mother in her final weeks. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Rehabilitation Society of Calgary, 7 – 11 Street N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 4Z2, where our sister, Andrea, has enjoyed much support and fellowship over the years. In living memory of Mary Dalgleish, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: (403) 243-8200.
