Obituary of TAYLOR – Alfred Frederick Birch

March 12, 1929 – January 8, 2010 It is with great sadness that we relay the passing of Alfred Taylor at the age of 80. Alfred passed peacefully with all of his children at his side. Alfred, a native Calgarian, was an extremely talented machinist who spent most of his working years with the CP Rail and SAIT. As an avid steam locomotive fan, Alfred built spectacular “to scale” model locomotives. Alfred is survived by his children, their spouses, and grandchildren; Alfred & Judy (Jennifer, Laura [Chris] & Lisa), Cheryl & Rob (Chris & Sarah), Carolyn & Keith (Ryan, Michael & Amanda), Darrell & Neil (Brittany, Laura & Pauline), Warren & Nancy (David & Amy) and Lynn; and 2 great-grandchildren Grace and Matthew. Alfred was predeceased in August 2009 by his loving wife of 58 years, Frieda. He was also predeceased by his parents Alfred & Sarah Taylor. We wish to extend our gratitude to the staff of Unit 37 at the Foothills Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E., Telephone 403-256-9575) on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 6007 1A Street SW, Calgary, AB T2H 0G5 or through www.kidney.ca. Condolences may be forwarded at www.mcinnisandholloway.com .
