Obituary of CARMINE – Sarah Douglas

September 24, 1925 – January 3, 2010. It is with great sadness that the family of Sarah (Sally) Carmine announce her passing at the age of 84 years. Sally passed away peacefully with family at her side at the Peter Lougheed Centre. Sally was born in Calgary, grew up in the community of Hillhurst and attended Western Canada High School. Sally worked and retired from The Albertan (Newspaper) as an accounting clerk. She married her beloved Rich in 1949 and together they shared thirty-two years of entertaining, travel, golf, and monthly card games with many close friends. Sally was especially loved for her attentive, funny, and gentle nature. Besides her husband Rich, Sally was predeceased by her brothers, John Boyd and David Boyd; and sisters; Helen Hutt and Elizabeth (Bess) Nelson. Sally is survived by three sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Sarah’s honour may be made directly to Osteoporosis Canada, 1090 Don Mills, Suite 301, Toronto, ON M3C 3R6.
