Condolences
Angela, I am so sorry about your father’s death. Your voice today (January 2nd) tipped me off – I wish I had known so I could have come to the service. Please do email me when you can. My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. Kay
This is not a condolence message for I have never met Clyde. I had recieved a message from a friend of mine in Calgary saying she was sorry to hear my Grandfather had died. As both sets of my grandparents have been gone for many years, needless to say I was curious as to how she got her info. I looked up the obit in the Calgary Herald and was surprised to see so many names attached to Ovens that I have never heard before. I have been told I have an Uncle Roy in ONT. and knew my Cousin Earl and his family in Calgary. My Grandparents were Ed and Ethel Ovens and my folks were Ralph and Elsie Ovens. If we are related and anyone has the desire to contact me and fill in the blanks, my email is funkey@ocis.net my phone number at my shop is 250-378-4454. The shop is closed until Jan 4, and I am in transition to a new residence so I do not have a home phone as of yet but am checking my emails on a semi regular basis. I live in Merritt B.C.
Curiously, Tim
I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the entire Ovens family for your recent loss. I worked for Clyde in the late ’60s at PanAmerican Petroleum Limited (in the Art Balfour era). Clyde was an excellent mentor, passing on to me many lessons which held me in good stead for my entire career. In addition, he was a kind and generous friend. In another vein, he passed along to me many woodworking techniques as I spent many an afternoon attempting to help him remodel the Garden Crescent residence.
I share a sense of loss with the entire family at Clyde’s passing.
Sincerely,
Mark Bercov
