Obituary of RIZZUTI – Carmine

August 20, 1931 – December 20, 2009 Carmine (Carmelo) Rizzuti, beloved husband of Catarina of Calgary, passed away on December 20, 2009 at the age of 78 years, after a lengthy illness following a stroke. Carmine was born in Garaguso, Province of Matera, Italy on August 20, 1931. Before immigrating to Canada in 1969, he lived in Italy and enjoyed traveling to France on several occasions and enjoyed learning to speak French. Carmine and Catarina were married on December 23, 1969. He became a proud father on September 22, 1971 when his daughter Rosanna was born. Rosanna was truly daddy’s girl. Carmine worked for CPR for sixteen years. His retirement years were spent being the family and friends handyman, always lending a hand. Carmine enjoyed raising rabbits as pets with his daughter and enjoyed tending to his garden. He was a kind, gentle and happy man, always wearing a smile. Besides his loving wife Catarina, Carmine also leaves behind his beloved daughter Rosanna; and granddaughter Kaira; as well as several relatives in Calgary and Italy. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
