Obituary of THACKER – John Lawrence

September 8, 1913 – December 13, 2009 John Thacker, of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the age of 96 years. John was born in Nanaimo, BC and moved to Calgary in 1925. In 1939 John served overseas with the 1St Division Ammunition Corps., returning home in June of 1945. John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law David and Sharon; grandchildren Emily and Allan and nephews Ern and Jean Pritchard and Roy and Irene Pritchard. John was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years Elsie in 2004; his sisters Lillian Thacker in 1942 and Bertha Pritchard in 2002.
