Obituary of WATSON – James C.

May 26, 1914 – December 12, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Watson on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the age of 95 years, at the Peter Lougheed Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Vancouver, B.C. He worked for General Bakery until entering the service with the RCAF. He met Babs while stationed in Winnipeg, MB. They resided in Vancouver until 1959 when Jim was transferred to Calgary and started Watson’s Pies . Jim was a member of Canyon Meadows Golf Course where he was always “perfecting his swing”. He was also a member of the Rotary Club of Calgary South where he was a past president and recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship award. Family was very important to him and he was very proud of them. Jim will be dearly missed by his daughter and son-in-law Lorraine and Mike Seth; son and daughter-in-law Jim and Carla Watson; seven grandchildren, Michael, Jenny and Justin Seth, Dean and Judy Welsh, Carrie Watson, Chris Watson and his fiancé Caroline Chow, Mark and Sue Friesen; five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Logan and Colin Welsh, April and Ben Friesen; a niece Judy Diatelevi and her family; and his good friend Howard Miller. He was predeceased by his wife Babs, of 57 years, his brother Tom Watson and sister-in-law Irene Watson. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
