Obituary of Anne SMITH

December 6, 1933 – December 10, 2009 Anne Smith of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Anne was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on December 6, 1933. She married Robert Smith in 1958 and they came to live in Calgary in 1967. Anne devoted her life to her family, always encouraging them in all their activities. She was a passionate hockey fan, especially for HER Calgary Flames. Anne was also very active with the #284 Royal Canadian Legion and will be dearly missed by her many friends. Anne is survived by her loving children, Judy (Jim) Horel, James, Tony (Angie), and Wayne (Debbie); grandchildren, Dayna and Craig Horel, Alexa, Jordan and MacKenzie Smith and Meagan Smith; sister, Maude Gouthro; brother, Dave Conway as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; parents, Mabel and David; brothers, Gerald and Bill and her sister, Betty. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. A private family Graveside Service will take place at Queens Park Cemetery.
