Obituary of VETERE – Rosa

May 21, 1930 – December 5, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce Rosa Vetere (Grandma Joe), while surrounded by her family, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009. Rosa was born in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy on May 21, 1930. Rose and her daughter immigrated to Kimberly, BC in 1955 to join her husband Joe, who had come to Canada two years earlier, and began a new life. After the birth of their two sons, they moved to Calgary in 1963. Rosa dedicated her life to her husband Joe and their three children. She will always be remembered for her love of family, passion for cooking and her generosity to all. Rosa will be deeply missed by her children, Teresa (Don), Mario (Karen) and Tony (Rita); grandchildren, Jonpaul (Angie), Trena (Tim), Joe, Peter, and Michela; and her great grandsons, Parker Joe and Jaxon. She is also survived by her brother Tony (Fiorina) Iaquinta and her sister-in-law Rosa Ambrosio. Rosa was predeceased by her husband Joe. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (4718 Worcester Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (4718 Worcester Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
