Obituary of Beth Sanjean Sandy OAKLEY

June 19, 1927 – December 4, 2009 Sandy Oakley of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2009 at the age of 82 years. Sandy was born Beth Sanjean in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Milo and Marie Remund in 1927. She spent her childhood in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and then attended Oklahoma University where she met Bill. They married in 1947 and lived in many cities in the U.S. before moving to Calgary in 1967. Sandy is survived by her loving children; Bill Oakley Jr., Susan (Fred) King, Michael (Andrea) Oakley, Marilyn (Gary Cochrane) Oakley and former daughter in law Christine Oakley. She loved and adored her wonderful grandchildren; Erica Oakley, Kimberly Oakley, Wendy (Chris) Lambert, Sara King, Matt (Reese) King, Tyler Oakley, Todd (Jennie Hunt) Oakley, Hayle Oakley, Quinn Oakley, Charlotte Tetley, Sean Cochrane and Jamie Cochrane. She was so proud to be a great grandmother to Hayden Oakley. They all loved her and will miss her dearly. Sandy was predeceased by her husband of fifty six years, Bill, in 2004. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, December 14, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery.
